Blood Orange was featured as the latest guest on NPR’s newest installment of ‘Tiny Desk Concert.’ Blood Orange was joined by poet Ashlee Haze, Eva Tolkin, Ian Isaiah, Jason Acre, and Mikey Freedom Hart.
Blood Orange opened up the set by performing his track “By Ourselves” which comes off of his latest studio project, ‘Negro Swan.’ The piece was preceded by Ashlee Haze’s spoken word poem, in which she reflects on her discovery of veteran MC Missy Elliot at eight years old.
Blood Orange offered a smooth and soothing rendition of each of the track’s covered. The live instrumentation and vocals elevated added to the performance’s success. As music festivals slowly but surely comes upon us, you will be able to check out Blood Orange at various live performances, including the III Points Festival in Miami on February 17th and the Governor’s Ball in New York on its opening day, May 31st.
