YBN Cordae has finally released his debut project, titled ‘The Lost Boy.’ The album is the first to come from the YBN music crew, and it has definitely set the standards high. The release comes just days after the release of Cordae’s collaboration with Anderson .Paak, which is also featured on the album. The album officially released Thursday night (7/25).
The 15-track project features various big name artists, including Meek Mill, Pusha-T, Chance the Rapper, and Ty Dolla $ign. Production wise, the album features assistance from J. Cole, Masego, Terrance Martin, and, much to our surprise, Quincy Jones, among others.
Regarding his debut project, Cordae shared with Complex:
“I’ma just let the music speak for itself, ‘cause it’s true to me, it’s authentic to my story. …I just want it to resonate, and it’s just real, you know what I’m sayin’? But I don’t really give a fuck about first-week numbers, because it’s a project, and then it’s a marathon. We seen n***as do, like, 300k the first week, but then no one’s talking about it in a couple of months.”
Cordae has been on his The Lost Boy Tour since late May. The album comes right in time for him to close out on August 1st at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Illinois.
