Fresh from Brooklyn, Harry Fraud has been turning heads with project after project. Rory William Quigley, better known as Harry Fraud, is a NY-based American record producer who is best known for his work with French Montana.
With two musically involved parents, Fraud was introduced to the idea of a music career early on. In high school, he began experimenting with music as a member in a self-titled band Cash Cow. After dabbling around in different genres, Fraud settled down with focus on the hip hop industry. “I had a 4-track and a drum machine in my house when I was a kid, before I even knew what the f*ck they were.” states Fraud in an interview with Daniel Isenberg. “Then that evolved from me playing instruments as a kid, to DJing, to getting little samplers and drum machines and pieces of gear and putting beats together.” He began learning the works of sampling and spent his free time seeking classics to sample for the beginnings of his own music.
Fraud then was able to find his own signature, focusing on the musicality of the production, which gave his works an overall connectedness that flows together.
After experimenting with music through his college years, he began to affiliate with the New York mixtape scene, having the chance to work with several notable artists, one of the most notable being French Montana. Fraud was able to win Montana over with his sample-based beats and grow a close relationship between the two. This opened the door to his success, leading to work with huge names including Wiz Khalifa on his Oz’s & Lbs (2012) and the mixtape Cigarette Boats (2012) with Curren$y.
Harry Fraud also released his own EP in 2013, titled High Tide which featured Danny Brown and Trae tha Truth, and partnered another album the same year with Eddie B title Paper, Piff, & Polo. Last year, Fraud released his debut album Blue/Green through his independent record label Surf School Recordings.
Today, Fraud has a long list of successful work with some of the top artists of the game, including Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, Mac Miller, Bun B, Pusha T, Action Bronson and Riff Raff. The past few years have been extremely successful for Harry Fraud, and his name is rightfully beginning to reach around the globe.
