Alicia Keys brings a powerful performance at the 2016 historical Democratic Convention last night in Philly! Hillary Clinton became the first woman nominated for president of the United States and Alicia took the stage to honor Hilary with a heartfelt show.
Keys performed her As I Am single “Superwoman” and her new single, In Common.”
She stated the following messages while delivering her performances:
“It’s time to stand together and be unified,”“We can’t let politics divide us. We have to show the world that bigotry and fear will never win because we have so much in common.
“Tonight is a celebration,” “We are stronger together. The way forward is with acceptance and love. Lets acknowledge our differences and celebrate them. Dr. King said the last word must always be love.”
“Tonight is an incredible night for American history and feminist history,” she said. “Don’t waste a vote. Vote for Hillary Clinton because love will always win.”
Alicia also shouts out the Mothers of the Movement by stating: I bow in gratitude to the #MothersoftheMovement for being Beautiful Bright Beacons of Light even through the dark.
