Rising star Grace Carter is set to embark on her first U.S. tour, supporting critically acclaimed singer Dermot Kennedy on the west coast leg of his upcoming dates. Grace joins Kennedy in San Diego on November 12 stateside on the heels of her own current UK/European headlining tour. Having previously toured with Kennedy, she has also opened for an additional impressive array of artists including HAIM, Dua Lipa, and Jorja Smith.
Grace grew up in Brighton, England listening to the likes of Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, whose influence are evident in her powerful songwriting and musical maturity. She began writing songs while she was in school, and at the age of fourteen she was already performing her own material. One year later, she converted her bedroom into a makeshift recording studio, and eventually taught herself the piano by watching YouTube videos.
Her debut EP Saving Grace was released this past summer, building upon Grace’s fan base around the world. Vevo’s DSCVR platform recently featured Carter and raved she “will have you floored with every vocal melody and piano hook.” Watch her performances of “Why Her Not Me” and “Silence”.
