Watch Drake Gives Away $1 Million to Miami Community In His Video
Drake has released arguably, the best music video of 2018, for his single ‘God’s Plan’. The tear-jerking video documents Drake going around the city of Miami making various charitable donations. He is seen paying for a store full of shoppers at a local grocery store, donating $50,000 to a Women’s and Children’s Shelter, giving a $50,000 Scholarship to a student for the University of Miami, donating $25,000 to a Miami High School for after-school programming, and giving stacks of cash to everyday families.
Before the video begins, there is a disclaimer that notes that Drake was given a budget of $996, 631.90 for the production of the ‘God’s Plan’ video, and instead, Drake and his team gave it all way. Then, is jokingly says “Don’t tell the label”. During a time of so much turmoil, the video is a much-needed demonstration of pure generosity and compassion.
The single is already #1 song on Apple Music and Billboard charts, and I am sure it will remain now that it is paired with such amazing visuals. After the release of the video, Drake took to his Instagram calling what he did in Miami, the “most important thing I have ever done in my career.”
