Chicago-based artist Sir The Baptist debuted his short film ‘God Is on Her Way’. The compelling and enlightening visuals tackle human trafficking and addresses love. Sir The Baptist co-directed the film alongside Sam Cahill to tell the traumatizing experience of a woman named Elizabeth who is a survivor of human trafficking.
During an interview with Rap-Up, Sir explained his motive for the short film, saying “The way that we perceive love and the lack of focus on human trafficking in hip-hop culture has really gone astray,” he continues “The emphasis is on a ‘foreign’ chick for music videos and using women as vehicles, instead of viewing them for the Gods that they are and the ones who’ve brought us into this world. I hope that this film can be one piece to shift the culture back to a place of respect and sustainability.”
The song appeared on Sir’s ‘Saint to Sinner’ Project. For the ‘God Is on Her Way’ short film, watch below.
