Fresh off her winning the 2017 “Soul Train Certified Award” on the Soul Train Awards last night, R&B songstress Ledisi just dropped her new video “Add To Me,” which premiered Friday via BET Soul & BET Her. In the video, Ledisi’s love interest, played by Timon Kyle Durrett (Queen Sugar), trying to get her attention after meeting at a civil rights rally. Having a cinematic vibe, Ledisi was adamant about bringing back the imagery of nostalgic R&B videos originally pioneered by the likes of Michael Jackson and Madonna. The video was directed by longtime collaborator Ron T. Young, who also co-wrote the video concept with the soul singer.
She also performed alongside Kirk Franklin at this year’s Soul Train Awards for a rendition of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes’ “Wake Up” that also featured Le’Andria Johnson, Daniel Caesar, and MAJOR (Click Here to View)
