A short film, narrated by Jay Z has been released focusing on the Nixon administration and the Rockefeller drug laws with no end in sight to the war on drugs calling it an ‘Epic Fail.’
In the visual, Molly Crabapple paints the scenes as Jay Z delivers the daunting facts how bad New York drug epidemic was and how the prison population is one of the highest in his home state. He also mentions the unfairness of the marijuana market.
“Young men like me who hustled became the sole villains,” he says. He also places blame on the justice system and media for perpetuating that myth. It’s a scathing indictment of the whole cycle that ends with Hov demanding that America “rethink our policies and laws.”
