Childish Gambino is back at it again- instead of releasing a controversial new single or touring the millennium falcon, he’s talking with Jimmy Kimmel. The Star Wars star took a break from making music to discuss it, specifically “This Is America”. In order to keep his sanity, however, Glover claims to have stayed away from reviews of his new song. The symbolic video has made its way around the web being labeled as a critique on gun violence and racism.
“I see one negative thing, and I track that person down.” The rapper jokes. Along with his music, he opened up about the meaning behind his reprisal of Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story. “I told my agent, like, ‘If they’re making a Han Solo movie, Lando’s gotta be in it, and I want to be Lando.” A huge moment for Glover, the long-time Star Wars fanatic, who got to share the experience with his father who visited him on set.
