After recently celebrating the 25thanniversary of their debut album, Enta Da Stage, the Brooklyn-based hip-hop group Black Moon is set to drop their reunion album, Rise of Da Moon, this summer. In anticipation of its release, the group delivered visuals for the album’s debut single, “Creep Wit Me,” on Friday.
The video features dark, menacing scenes of late-night lurking in a city that looks more like Gotham than New York. The track itself is a textbook example of the lyrical rawness and boom bap sonics that define New York hip-hop. It’s the first taste of the group’s recent work which brings a new sense of maturity to their music without sacrificing the energetic delivery that marks their legacy.
“If you only knew how good it feels to be doing this for the love. Much respect to hip-hop for having Black Moon in the cypher. It’s been a long time,” said Black Moon’s Buckshot in an interview with Complex.
Black Moon’s original members, Buckshot and 5 ft, reunited with Da Beatminerz for the project, which features Smif N Wessun, Rock (of Heltah Skeltah), and Method Man.
