T-Pain and Chris Brown have many hits together from the mid 2000’s, but their usual upbeat tempos and club bangers is not something that this song represents. “I don’t wanna wake up dead, ooh-ooh/ If I ain’t got you, then I’m already gone/ Baby, don’t leave me alone/ ‘Cause I don’t wanna wake up dead…”
With past records such as ‘Kiss Kiss’, ‘Best Love Song’, ‘Freeze’ and many more, ‘Wake Up Dead’ is meaningful to T-Pain because his wife Amber of 17 years, wrote the song with him. “I got to help my hubby writing this one. So much fun.” She wrote on her Instagram. Fans are interested to see if T-Pain and Chris Brown will bring more emotional songs such as this, or something reminding us of those fast beat 2007 bops.
