Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y have released their long-awaited, highly anticipated joint project ‘2009.’ The 14-track project officially released this past Thursday (2/7) though the album was initially announced nearly four years ago. The duo previously released a collaborative project entitled ‘How Fly’ in 2009, so this second project is appropriately named.
Though the process of getting the album out took a little longer than expected, fans can rest assure knowing that the project brings just as much to the table as their previous collaboration. The Taylor Gang and Jet Life rappers flow together well, and combined with their dope beats, the album is loaded with bangers. Wiz previously spoke to MTV Music regarding the process of working on the album, stating:
“We’re just working on it constantly. He’s always sending me beats that he rapped to, or I’m sending him stuff that I rapped to. In the end, we’re just gonna come out with something super dope.”
Wiz and Curren$y will be touring through North America, stopping in 22 cities. The tour kicked off yesterday (2/8) in Seattle, Washington and will close off on March 9th in San Antonio, Texas. The duo will also be performing together at Rolling Loud this upcoming May.
The album includes features from Ty Dolla $ign and Problem. It can be streamed through Spotify and Apple Music, right here on this page. Be sure to check it out!
