JUNO Award winning Canadian reggae artist, Kirk Diamond released his new single “Once Upon a Time,” a follow up to his 2017 EP “GREATER”. On the heels of winning his first JUNO award earlier this year, Mr. Diamond dropped another gem for his fans.
Distributed by VPAL Music and produced by Y Rush, “Once Upon a Time” is an upbeat inspirational tune as seen in the lyrics, “Once upon a time we used to live in love and harmony and once upon a time my best friend wouldn’t want to be my enemy,” which are delivered over an up-tempo rhythm.
Kirk Diamond draws influences from all arenas but specifically dancehall and roots reggae, whose sounds are common in his music. “The eighties were the golden era of dancehall, which is a subdivision of reggae. My music is conscious with very powerful messages but I cannot help but pay homage to those who paved the way for me. Dancehall is a part of our culture. It is a part of my culture.”
“Once Upon a Time” is now available on all digital streaming platforms.
