Big K.R.I.T. has released a new EP entitled ‘Double Down’ yesterday (Nov. 30). This comes only two weeks after he released his EP ‘Thrice X’, which released on November 16th.
The EP features only two tracks but still manages to stand on its own as a project. The tracks, “Learned From Texas” and “Pick Yourself Up”, though slightly different from one another in content, both showcase K.R.I.T.’s dynamic rap flows over two distinct uptempo beats. “Learned From Texas” serves to acknowledge Texas’s influences on the rap game. The track itself, produced by DJ Khalil and Tariq Beats, features the signature Texas chopped and screwed beat style. The second track “Pick Yourself Up”, produced by Rico Love, addresses the importance of autonomy and independence.
