This May, some of the biggest rap legends will be teaming up to give fans a tour to remember. The “Gods of Rap Tour” will feature Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, and De La soul.
The tour will take place on May 10th, 11th, and 12th in London, Manchester, and Glasgow respectively. The event is meant to celebrate the anniversary of a classic album by each group. Wu-Tang will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of ‘Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers),’ Public Enemy will be celebrating the 30 year anniversary of ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back,’ and De La Soul will be celebrating 30 years of ‘3 Feet High and Rising.’ Regarding the event, Chris Wareing, a promoter for SJM, told Music Weekly:
“I don’t believe anything like this has been done in the UK before on this level. This tour creates a legacy, it’s a moment. The groups are the biggest in their genres, they’re all celebrating notable anniversaries of their biggest albums and I am led to believe this is the first time they have all been on the same bill together.”
Wu-Tang Clan will be the official headliner, and the event will be hosted by DJ Premier. Tickets for the event will be available for purchase starting January 25th.
