The Roots Picnic Is Coming To New York City!

After the success of the Roots Picnic this past month, The group will be expanding the event in New York City! The long-running festival, held for the last nine years in the band’s hometown of Philadelphia, will debut its NYC edition October 1 and 2 in Manhattan’s Bryant Park.
Produced by Live Nation, The first night will feature a headlining jam with D’Angelo and John Mayer, while the second night — billed as a Love Letter to NYC — will be headlined by the entire Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne and Nile Rodgers, all backed by the Roots. Swizz Beatz, Jeremih, Kevin Gates, X Ambassadors, Trombone Shorty and EPMD are also among the scheduled performers, with plenty of surprise guests slated to take the stage as well.
