We attended the new Netflix ‘Rapture’ SXSW film festival premiere last night (March 17) to take first look at two exclusive episodes with Nas, Dave East & T.I. from the new eight-part documentary series. Produced by Sacha Jenkins, Marcus Clarke and the team at Mass Appeal, the episodes spend an hour showing behind-the-scenes of the life of each artist.
After watching the two episodes, you’re in for a real treat! Sacha Jenkins & Clarke displays hip-hop culture through the eyes of your favorite rappers. The documentary will feature stories from Nas, Dave East, T.I., Rapsody, Logic, G-Eazy, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, 2 Chainz and Just Blaze.
T.I., Rapsody, and Dave East speak to Netflix on the importance of the ‘Rapture’ series at the premiere.
My episode is with Nas. It shows we are regular people. It shows different things that you don’t get to see on Instagram. I think is dope for hip-hop, gives people a chance us in a different light – Dave East
I think we all love the energy that the music produces. That energy thrives from a place. There is a story behind each of these artists that produce these songs that provide this energies. – T.I.
You get the true unreal story, it not prettied up, not edited. It’s from us in it’s purest form, it’s the honesty of it. – Rapsody
Rapture premieres globally on March 30th on Netflix. Watch the trailer below!
