This year’s Essence Fest is going to be one for the books. Set to take place in New Orleans from the 4th of July through July 7th, the festival will be celebrating 25 years since its initial launch.
To celebrate this milestone, Essence Fest is bringing out a lineup of both veteran and new artists. Among the OGs performing are Nas, Missy Elliot, Pharrell, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, Anthony Hamilton, Jermaine Dupri, Musiq Soulchild. New artists performing at the festival include City Girls, Jaquees, H.E.R., Normani, and Teyana Taylor.
ESSENCE Communications President Michelle Ebanks had this to say in regards to this year’s festival:
“The ESSENCE Festival represents culture, community and a powerful convening around one of the largest curated content experiences in the world. As we look forward to the Festival’s 25th anniversary celebration in 2019, we will continue to offer curated platforms of entertainment, empowerment, entrepreneurship, activism and more that will both engage and inspire Black women globally.”
Essence Fest will be taking place in various locations throughout New Orleans, including the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and Mercedes-Benz Superdome, with more locations to be announced. Tickets can be purchased now through Ticket Master.
