Cardi B. has officially entered the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with her feature on Pardison Fontaine’s latest track “Backin It Up.” This is Cardi’s twentieth time entering the Billboard charts. “Backin’ It Up,” which originally released two weeks ago, entered the charts at #92.
Cardi B.’s twentieth chart topping hit comes almost exactly one year after her hit single “Bodak Yellow” hit #1 on the Billboard charts. “Backin’ It Up” is the first song by Pardison Fontaine, on which he is the lead artist, to place on the charts. He is, however, a credited writer on many charting songs, including “Violent Crimes” by Kanye West. Pardison is also a credited writer on many of the tracks on Cardi B.’s debut album.
Overall Cardi B.’s platinum certified debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ saw several hits, and since its release, every single track has been featured on the Billboard 100. Both “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” from the album reached #1 on the charts, and charted for 35 and 25 weeks respectively.
Additionally, Cardi’s features on “No Limit,” “Motorsport,” “Finesse,” “Girls Like You,” “La Modelo,” and “Dinero” have all charted, with “Girls Like You” being the single feature to reach #1 on the charts. With only one album out, Cardi B. has performed along the lines of more experienced hip-hop artists. There is no telling how much success she will see as she continues to progress as an artist.
