All Hail Queen Bey! LEMONADE takes the spot on the Billboard 200 album charts, earning 653,000 equivalent album units (485,000 pure album sales) according to Nielsen Music. The album becomes Beyoncé’s sixth straight No. 1 album, making her the first act in history to have their first six studio albums to top the charts. Queen Bey also becomes the first act to debut atop the list with their first six LPs.
Beyonce previously hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with her self-titled album in 2013, 4 (2011), I Am…Sasha Fierce (2008), B’Day(2006) and Dangerously In Love (2003). Her eponymous set launched atop the chart with 617,000 copies sold in just three days and from only one retailer: iTunes, where it was initially exclusively available. It sold 991,000 copies in its first 10 days.
Drake is right behind with VIEWS album, which is projected to sell 1 million copies opening week when the final numbers are in next week.
