This week, the phenomenon that is Cardi B sat down with Beats 1’s, Ebro. During their conversation, many topics were addressed including pregnancy rumors, her first Grammy performance with Bruno Mars, speculated Nicki Minaj beef, and of course, ‘Invasion of Privacy’.
The interview begins with Cardi clearing up the notion that she had ‘overnight success’; “It didn’t happen so fast. A lot of people see that it happened so fast because they just saw the impact that Bodak Yellow did,”. She goes on to explain that for over two years prior to Bodak Yellow, she had to solely invest in her music and into self-promotion by personally calling radio stations and local DJ’s, and having to pay for her very first tour.
