Rapper and actor DMX was released from prison this past Friday (1/25) after serving a one year sentence for tax evasion. He was originally scheduled for release on Sunday (1/27) but was released two days early as a result of a policy that allows this if an inmate’s release date lands on a weekend.
In addition to his one year sentence, DMX will have to pay $2.3 million in restitution. He has also been ordered to join substance abuse and mental health programs. Despite these things, DMX is still working.
The rapper plans to release an album in the upcoming year, and has several book deals and a biopic coming up. These things will definitely be interesting to see, as fans have surely missed the artist in his absence. Let’s see what his 2019 comeback brings us!
