Sitting at the top of the Urban music chart is Kaytranada & Vic Mensa’s latest song “Drive Me Crazy, the infectious- infused song is only a glimpse into the genius behind its intrinsic sound. If u grew up listening to an assembly of jazz, house and neo-soul music, which is the root of all Hip-Hop; then im sure you will be thrilled in becoming vastly familiar with producer, Kaytranada. The 22-year old musical wiz has the world in awe of his rhythmic beat-making talents; not to mention that the Canadian born phenomenon has a resume you won’t believe. Starting at the age of fourteen, Louis Celestin who goes by his stage name Kaytranada learned how to mix and make beats from his older brother, where he grew passionate about its art form. To date he has remixed a grove of infamous songs, which include Janet Jackson’s song “If”, Missy Elliot”s “ock it to me” in 2013, TLC’s “Creep”, “Erykah Badu’s song “Love of my Life” which featured in the hit movie “Brown Sugar” and even Beyonce’s song “Work it out”. In which he released 7 projects under his stage name Kaytranada , and 8 projects under his previous name Kaytradamus. On a global scale, the world is well in- tack with the DJing artistry of Kaytanada seeing that he has toured internationally in over 50 cities which include cities in both Australia and Europe.
In addition to this year’s SXSW festival; Kaytranada’s most recent performance was in Washington, DC for the city’s Third Annual Broccoli Fest. The Lovethistrack team we’re in attendance to see Kaytranada light up the stage. He carried a mellow vibe on the turn –tables and thoroughly rocked the crowd with a mix of old and new school music, where his set was one of the most intriguing. Last year Kaytranada announced the airing of his own BBC Radio show which was said to be launched early 2015, where the young producer will showcase himself as a pioneer to the next level of music. Kaytranada is one of the most unique producers that today’s generation has encountered. We look forward to what is next from Katyranada.
