What do singing sisters; Chloe and Halle Bailey, have to do with the one of greatest pop entertainers of all time? The Atlanta born show-stopping duo won over the heart of the Queen B herself, Beyoncé, with their remarkable vocal talent and appealing destine for stardom.
In 2015, the singer offered these two teens a million dollar contract with her production company Parkwood Entertainment. Chloe and Halle Bailey’s life changing deal provides a score six album contracts with this company over the next five years.
17-year-old Chloe and 15-year-old Halle from North Hollywood already have a huge YouTube following. They started off acting in movies like 2006’s Last Holiday, but gained fame as preteens singing on YouTube. The two sisters have fantastic voices-Chole with her soulful powerhouse vocals while Halle dazzles the audience with her more jazzy tone.
They have been known through their ability to cover various songs in different genres, which gained their large following. Along the many covers lied their versions of some of Beyoncé’s major hits, including ‘Love On Top’ and ‘Best Thing I Never had.’ What got the duo noticed was their cover of ‘Pretty Hurts.’ This caught the eye of Bey’s manager; the cover currently has over eight million views on YouTube.
The Grammy award winner has been encouraging the girls every step of the way, reminding the sisters to embrace their lovely locks and authenticity. While attending a recent Essence Black Women in Music pre-Grammys event in Hollywood, Chloe mentioned how Beyoncé advises them, “Don’t look down at the comments’ and always be yourselves.”
The sisters say they knew their boss and mentor was working on the video for ‘Formation’, but couldn’t tell a soul. “We love the video,” Chloe says. “She slayed,” adds Halle.
Early this spring, the sisters released their debut EP Sugar Symphony, April 29th; six days after Beyoncé released her jaw dropping visual album Lemonade. Chloe and Halle partnered up with Billboard to exclusively premiere their five-song EP, which features contributions from Hit-Boy (Drake, Jay Z) and is led by the mature, self-produced and -written single “Drop.”
“After Bey heard it,” recalls Halle, “she said: ‘Girls, I’m so proud of you! This is exactly what I wanted: for you to keep being you.’ ”
These sisters have been making a great name for themselves, being so young. With the influence of incredible women surrounding their support, the biggest being Beyoncé, there is no doubt Chloe and Halle with go far in this industry.
