Meek Mill‘s long-awaited and highly anticipated fourth studio album ‘Championships’ is finally here. This is Meek’s first album since he was released from prison back in April. He has since put out various singles ahead of the album, including his hit track “Dangerous”, “Oodles O Noodles Babies”, and “Uptown Vibes”.
The track boasts a pretty extensive list of featured artists, adding an additional layer of intrigue to the project. One of those features is the track “Going Back” which features former adversary, Drake. Though it was already understood that Meek and Drake had moved past their beef when Drake brought him out on his “Aubrey and The Three Migos” tour, the song solidified their re-established friendship. The album also features “On Me”, Meek’s highly awaited and shaded feature with Cardi B. Additionally, the album features Kodak Black, Fabulous, PnB Rock, Future, Young Thug, Ella Mai, 21 Savage, and Jermih.
A stand out track on the album is “What’s Free” on which Meek Mill teams up with Rick Ross and Jay-Z to spit bars and facts onto the StreetRunner and Tarik Azzouz produced track. The rappers exchange bars and touch on everything from black excellence, to the flaws of the system, to black enslavement and injustices that live on in today’s society. Hov spits a particularly masterful verse, and the rappers all speak consciously on these very important issues.
