Rapsody has been hyping up a new album for the past few months. This past Thursday (8/22), she finally released the project in its entirety.
The album, ‘Eve,’ serves as the follow up to her 2017 sophomore project ‘Laila’s Wisdom.’ Regarding the ways in which this latest project compares to her sophomore release, Rapsody shared with Complex’s ‘Everyday Struggle’:
“I’m exciting, I’m happy about the project. It’s a lot of growth from Laila’s—I think it’s leaps and bounds of growth from Laila’s. It’s something I made for everybody. So, Laila’s was for me, but this one is something I made for the village of people…This album is really about showcasing different women and different sides of women.”
The album features a healthy list of features that suit Rapsody’s style and flow, as well as her projected message. ‘Eve’ includes features from Mereba, Elle Varner, J.I.D, Leikeli 47, Queen Latifah, Sir, and more. The 16-track project also includes the previously released singles “Sojourner” featuring J. Cole and “Ibtihaj” featuring GZA and D’Angelo.
