After a long six year hiatus, Diggy Simmons returns with the official release of his second studio-album, “Lighten Up.” The album is Diggy Simmons’s official return since 2012’s Unexpected Arrival. The eight-track full-length project is a monumental body of work that tackles mental health, love, and more. “Lighten Up” was executive produced by Shawn Barron and Earlly Mac and includes additional production efforts from Honorable C Note, Kaytranada, Jay The Great, and more. “Lighten Up” was introduced with four tracks: “It Is What It Is,” “Anchors,” “Text Me” and “Goin” – all available today.
Throughout the creation of his long-awaited second full-length album, rapper, singer, actor, and humanitarian Diggy Simmons not only grew as an artist, but also as a man. In fact, the 23-year-old star confidently actualized his vision like never before in terms of style, sound, and spirit.
“This whole period is all about growth, transitioning, and getting out of my own way in order to be my best self,” he affirms. “I started giving the right things attention. Self-love was a major concept for me. In order to share this message, I’m telling my personal experiences over musically rich production. It’s the sound I’ve been working towards for my whole career.”
