Tekashi 6ix9ine has released his debut album ‘Dummy Boy’, much to the excitement of his fans. The album was initially supposed to release on Black Friday, but was delayed due to 6ix9ine ‘s recent incarceration. With 6ix9ine’s open investigation and the serious time he may be facing, it wasn’t looking good for the project’s release. The album ended up leaking on the internet this past weekend.
6ix9ine asked his team to release the album on his behalf today (11/27). In a statement by DJ Akademics, 6ix9ine claimed that he wanted his fans to enjoy his music, despite his less than ideal circumstances. He also informed that 6ix9ine misses his fans dearly. The album itself is unconventional, much like 6ix9ine himself. It features a cartoonized version of 6ix9ine as the cover art. Everything down to the album’s title and each of the individual song names, which include “WAKA”, “KANGA”, and “WONDO”, are atypical.
But, its unorthodoxy does not take away from the album’s merits. Its production and beats left even those non-6ix9ine fans impressed. The 13-track project includes features from Tory Lanez, Bobby Shmurda, Lil Baby, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Anuel AA, Gunna, and TrifeDrew. ‘Dummy Boy’ also features two tracks with Nicki Minaj and Kanye West, one of which features both of the artists. The star studded lineup coupled with production from Murda Beatz, DJ SPINKING, CuBeatz, Bio-1da, Ronny J, Tay Keith, and Scott Storch, the album makes for a very bumping 35 minutes.
